Language relating to Arabs or Arabia. A language that is the official language of several countries of North Africa and the Middle East, as well as the religion of Islam. Religion based on "submission to the will of God", way of life of the followers of the prophet Muhammad. The sacred cubical shrine in Mecca, toward which Muslims face in prayer and to which they make pilgrimages (see hajj); Islamic traditon claims the Kaba (or Kaaba) was built by Abraham and Ishmael (see Quran 2.124-127).
